For an eternal moment of fame 2006		Turtles climbing on each other in the local zoo inspired me to make this work. Some people do everything to get higher on the social ladder..... Made from ceramics, wood and metal.

Keys for the Queen 2005		In 2005 Queen Beatrix was celebrating her 25th jubileum as a Queen. This was my present. Queen Beatrix could keep her keys in order in this small closet. Royal fingers are holding the keys from the bicicle of the Queen, the 'Gouden Koets' and the frontdoor of the Palace. The most right finger is having a long artificial 'Curaçao' nail. This finger is holding the key to the island Curaçao.

Tabu 2005		Constantin Brancusi made the famous 'Kiss'. A man and a woman kissing. In Tabu 2 men are kissing. Homosexuality is a delicate subject on the Caribbean islands.

Change 2003		Inspired by the Ficus tree.

Change (detail) 2003		Hands are holding very tight, loosening up more downwards. Like opening nuts.

Subject and Object 2001		Like in English grammar. How do we stand in life, like a subject or an object.

I came by Boat 2001		The project of Paul Cox in 2001 was called 'I came by Boat' My sailboat is a catamaran. One hull is called Antillas. The other hull is called Hulanda. During sailing, depending on the wind and the direction you choose, one of the two hulls will be up and outside the water. The other one deep in the water. And vice versa.

Alpha i Omega (detail) 2000		The boats have names like Humano, Poderoso, Dilanti, Huntu and Amor. These values/boatnames are standing high. The chain is connecting the values with the ground. Trying to plant these values into the ground of Curaçao.
